1971 454 Monte Carlo with 3″ Flowmaster Exhaust
This is my 1971 Monte Carlo. The video clip is for sound comparisons for different exhausts. The engine is about 9:1 compression and has a small hydraulic roller cam (224/234 deg @ 0.050″, .527″/.544″ lift). The intake is an Edelbrock RPM air gap, and the carb is a 750 Mighty Demon mechanical Secondary. The headers are Hooker Competition headers with 2″ primaries and 3.5″ collectors which go into 3″ dual exhaust with 3″ 50-Series Flowmaster mufflers which end right before the rear end.

In my opinion, i think you should go 40 series flowmasters they are called “thunder” series.
If you want loud and more aggressive, go with them.
I got them on my smallblock if you want to compare it, although i’m guessing my mufflers on your ride would sound 3x louder.

i love the …
i love the centerline wheels..it fits every muscle car good..but i do agree that new tires would be good so you can apply all that power.i have mickey thompson et street tires with my 78 camaro 454 .030 over..there really awesome.you leave a print in them if u dig ur thumbnail into it .very sticky =D

That sounds so bad ass. I have plans to buy a junked 454 and completely rebuild it for high performance. Going to put headers on it instead of flows or the glasspacks it has now. Anyways, nice car man.

You ever work on a BMW? Even the BMW dealerships don’t like to work on them. People say that they are over-engineered, but I disagree but that insinuates that there was actual thought involved in the engineering process. I would not have a BMW is someone “gave” it to me. Unfortunately I work on them all the time. VW’s are just as bad. The Japanese consider simplicity to be a part of luxury and I agree. VW…engineers wanted.
